Ministry Experience
I graduated from Baylor University in 2000 and received my Masters of Divinity Degree from George W. Truett Theological Seminary in 2003.
I have had the privilege of serving on the staff of several churches in Texas, Virginia, and California, and as a supply preacher. I have been married to Michelle, a teacher now homeschool mom, for 21 years and we are blessed to have a 16 year old son named Tyler.
I have planted four churches, three through the North American Mission Board including most notably “Church at the Beach IB” for 18 years, last year we rebranded it LIV Church. My sermons are posted online and it is humbling to see that they are being viewed regularly by believers all around the world.
In 25 years of ministry I have served as a senior pastor, a youth pastor, a children’s pastor, a worship leader and a church planter in large mega churches and smaller congregations in both rural and urban settings.

The following videos were part of my “Transformation” sermon series last year and include testimonies of various church members who have experienced personal transformation in a church I have pastored. These videos also provide valuable insight into my influence and ministry with the church members both new and established.
The next video shows the transformation of a church that we had recently completed a multifaceted renovation and revitalization. Three years prior the church was considering closing their doors as the congregation had dwindled down to a handful of seniors. After three years of strategically repositioning the church in the community, rebranding and re-envisioning the future of the church, the relaunch of the church’s new identity as the Light is captured in the following video:
